PDF/X

A standard kind of PDF made for printing, with fonts and images built in.

PDF/X is a set of PDF standards designed for print. Exporting as PDF/X (such as PDF/X-1a or PDF/X-4) embeds your fonts and keeps your file predictable.

Most design apps offer it as an export preset. In Word, choose the PDF option for best print quality and make sure fonts are embedded.
