How it works
You wrote the book. Here is how we get it from your finished files into your hands, in five simple steps. You see everything before anything prints, and a real person checks your order.
1. Pick your book
Choose a novel, a picture book, or tell us about something different. Then pick the size, binding and finish. Every book prints on our house paper. Options that will not work together are switched off, so you can’t end up with a book we can’t print. As you go, the page shows your spine width and an estimated arrival date.
Each choice comes with a free template sized for your exact book, with the trim, bleed and safe area already marked.
2. Upload your files
Send a PDF of your pages and your cover. Picture books can also be uploaded as one image per page, and we put them in order for you. Files up to 1 GB are fine.
3. We check every page
Nobody wants to open the box and find a book that printed wrong. Our file check looks for the things that most often go wrong in print: missing bleed, text too close to the edge, blurry images, the wrong page count or spine width, and fonts that are not embedded. Each note says what we found and how to fix it, with the pages shown.
For missing bleed and low resolution images, our AI tools can often fix the file for you. You see every change side by side, and nothing is used unless you approve it. Nothing about the check stops your order: you can fix things, or continue as is.
4. Approve your proof
This is the moment your book starts to feel real. You see every page and your cover the way they will print, and you can download the proof as a PDF. The digital proof is free. If you would like to hold a copy first, add a printed proof. It adds a fee and about 1 to 2 weeks.
5. Get your quote, then your books
A real person prices your book within 2 to 3 business days. You get one price with shipping included, the cost per book and an estimated delivery window. Approve and pay online, and your quote becomes an order. From there we email you at every step, including tracking when your books ship. Then comes the best part: opening the box.
Need help with your files?
You don’t have to figure it all out alone. Our design team can format your pages, design your cover, or fix files that are not quite print ready. They work inside your project, so you never have to go somewhere else. Start your book and upload what you have, then choose Need help with your files. We add the price to your quote.
We can also help with ISBNs and barcodes, copyright registration and a Library of Congress Control Number.
