PPI (pages per inch)

How many pages of a paper stack up to one inch. Used to work out spine width.

In book printing, PPI means pages per inch: a paper that runs 400 PPI makes a 200 page book block half an inch thick.

It is not the same as image resolution, which is sometimes also written PPI (pixels per inch). The two just share letters.
