Signature
A group of pages printed on one large sheet, then folded and trimmed together.
Books aren't printed one page at a time. Several pages print on one large sheet, which is folded into a section called a signature.
This is why bound books often need page counts in certain multiples. If your count doesn't fit, blank pages are added at the end.
