How to choose a size

Look at books like yours on your own shelf: readers expect novels to feel like novels and workbooks to lie open with room to write. A smaller trim means more pages for the same words, which makes a thicker spine and can change the price. Picture books often go wide or square to give illustrations room.

Sizes we set up online

Novels in 6 x 9 and 5.5 x 8.5 and picture books in 10 x 8 can be set up in our spec picker. Every other size is quoted by hand: tell us about your book.
